~20k-ish words, about 60-90 minutes of game play
~New sprite art and a whole new character and scene to play
~New mini CGs to enjoy so be sure to play from beginning to check that out!
~Customized GUI
~Music, sound effects
~At least 5 characters to get to know and love
~Very choice-heavy. Choices will have consequences, even the ones you don't think would. (This is more of a full-release feature, not so obvious in the demo)
Notes: Some backgrounds are just lines with a filter or a placeholder image. These will be finished in the fullrelease. The rest of the CGs will also be added in the full release!
!!!How do I access the NSFW adult scene???!!!
In your preferences, please toggle the NSFW switch to "On" otherwise the scene WILL NOT SHOW. I will say it happens when Griffin is at your apartment, should you choose he be there, so it's EASILY MISSABLE. Double check to make sure that it says on!!
Other: I kept the 1.0 files downloadable just in case anyone wants to see the progress that was made from A --> B at this point! :) However, I'm not sure if previous saves will work with this new update!

You play as 20 year old V Sawyer (name is customizable), a struggling writer living in a one bedroom apartment. You work at a secondhand bookstore run by Magdalene Smith, a woman who is more of a mother to you than your actual mother ever was. For three years, she and you ran the bookstore by yourselves until she hired Dell Franklin, a grumpy 20-something that only seems to get along with Mags, and possibly you.
It is here at your work that you meet 25 year old Griffin Wells. He's everything you've been looking for; tall, cute, and into the same things you're into!
However, strange things start happening to you, things that suddenly involve your young upstairs neighbor Sophie Graves, your best friend Tris Solis, and even your co-worker Dell. Things that start to make you question if there may be more to Griffin than he's letting on...
Will you be able to figure it out and keep your friends safe?

This demo **CURRENTLY** has: blood/mild gore (right in the menu screen!!), mentions of past childhood abuse and trauma, mentions of bodily fluids, stalking and breaking and entering, mild on the anxiety right now, and a brand new NSFW smut scene!
The full game will feature the above including: obsessive, possessive, and otherwise unhealthy behaviors towards other people, potential NSFW scenes, and lots of anxiety.
A note to players: when finished, this game will be intended to provoke feelings of panic and anxiety. This may not be entirely obvious in the current demo version, however, if you are prone or sensitive to anxiety and/or panic attacks, I urge you not to play.
Examples of this will **eventually** include: constant demands for your attention, constant switching between screens (a little bit of this is CURRENTLY in the demo!!), high-pressure situations where you WILL need to remember previous choices you've made, quick-time reactions, etc.

I am so late with this but I just wanted to say I adore how you set up these characters (especially with the friction between Griffin and Tris) as well as making them feel quite real and personable. I will say that I played the original demo first before the extended one to see how much changed and my favorite part's gotta be the investigation scene because it really tickled my brain. Also Riley is cute ehem ehem. The hints with Tris being all semi-yandere made me think that if Griffin wasn't already known to be the main yandere (or at least, from what I can tell) Tris would be a good red herring for a yandere (if that changes at all *side eyes*), with the way he was explosive it made me really curious over his side of the story on how he views the MC.
We need more scenes with papa Dell being protective, worried, and caring for us while we need more chaotic scenes with Sophie. Truly, she is my spirit companion. The ending scene with Tai was like, a big shocker to me genuinely and the cut off??? Man, that was like a wakeup call that while Griffin be chill, he ain't all that yet.
So excited to see what'll happen in the future! Goodluck with the development~!

In terms of the art, Griffin is really stinkin' cute! I think it's the little curl of hair in front of his face, it's so charming. I like when he gets flustered, smiles and blushes. He's very charismatic, and does a good job coming across as a kind, gentlemanly, normal guy. There are little hints of suspicious behavior, though, which I greatly enjoy. I'm also drawn to Tris. I'm not certain if he will be a romantic interest. I hope he might be, but I understand if that wasn't intended to be part of the game. The other characters are pretty likeable in their own ways! There's no one I don't want to befriend and learn more about.
I always love customization and interaction, so I like that there are lots of little choices here and there. The fact that they may shape the story and result in consequences later down the line is exciting to me. I am also thrilled by the prospect of the game being designed to provoke anxiety. I can't wait to see how everything plays out, and how my choices come back to bite me.
My favorite scene in the extended demo is when Griffin and Tris meet. I live for the drama. I like seeing a yandere interacting with other characters, I hope I get to watch how he behaves around everyone else too. Of course, I liked the nsfw scene a lot as well. :)
The length of the demo was pretty impressive in my opinion. I like longer experiences, and this demo didn't feel too short to me. Plus, there was a lot of interesting stuff happening in the plot, so I was captivated the whole way!
I'm very curious to know what happens next, so I'll definitely be keeping up with this lovely game. Great work and thank you for the experience!

I'm glad Griffin is coming across as I intended! It makes me feel good that I'm portraying him correctly in my own terms, if that makes sense haha. Unfortunately, Tris will not be a love interest in this game, but will have a route in the part 2/second game that I'm planning. This story is just too big for one game hehe, or at least the way I want to tell it.

This is something I can try to work on! However, I can't promise it ;; But I will do my best to supply a mac version in the next update (TBA) and for the full release.

I already know that Griffin is suspicious from the main screen lol BUT he seems like a sweetheart for now c: What makes me suspicious the most is that even if we choose female as our prefered partner he says that we matched and that's SUS, Tris sounds VERY suspicious too (especially at the end!!), Sophie is REALLY SMART OMG REALLY MATURE BEBE, Dell actually seems like a nice person if you are nice back to him and Tai.... HMMM I WONDER IF THOSE DELETES WERE TRULLY FROM TYPOS *raising eyebrow*
ALSO I LOVE THE DESIGNS OF THE CHARACTERS (ESPECIALLY SOPHIE BB) AND THE BACKGROUNDS YEEEEAAAAAAH
Also I think I have encountered a few errors! For some reason, you can't put the number ''8'' as a code for the gate to the appartment, and an error occurs when you disagree to call the cops.
Altogether, thank you for making the game Cinders!! Really enjoyed it hehe c:
Oop yeah about the code, it needs to be 4 digits. So 8888 should be fine but 8 or 88 or 888 is not!Both errors should be fixed now! ^^
